The Speech and Debate Team offers all these opportunities and more. If you would like to find out about what it takes and how to get involved come to the interest meeting during SMART lunch A on Wednesday, May 22nd. It's just an interest meeting. It might be time to say what's on your mind.

Men's soccer meeting

There will be a men's soccer meeting Friday, May 17th to discuss summer and fall plans.  All players who wish to tryout should attend the meeting.  The meeting for men's soccer will be held on Friday in pod 2.  If you have any questions please come see Mr. Worley in Pod 2.

2013 Senior DVD Set

Don’t miss out on the 2013 Spartan Senior DVD set.  It is a set of 3 DVDs that includes awesome footage from the following events: 

Awards Day, Senior Picnic, Senior Assembly & Skit, Graduation

ONLY a $28 for memories that last a lifetime!

Orders should be submitted by June 11th.  Orders can be mailed to the school, given to Mr. Green in Room 238, or left with Mrs. White in the main office. Payment is due when the order form is submitted.  Cash is accepted, and checks are to be made payable to Sanderson High School.  All orders may be picked up Thursday, June 13th - Friday, June 14th.  If not picked up by Friday, June 14th, the order will be mailed out Monday, June 17th!

Sanderson Wrestling Offseason Open Mats: Tuesdays and Thursdays

The Sanderson Wrestling Team will be having offseason open mats every Tuesday and Thursday from 2:20-3:45 in the small gym.  Current physicals must be on file, and you must be academically eligible to attend.  Anyone who wishes to join the Sanderson Wrestling Team needs to talk to Coach Barefoot first in room 120.

Once again Sanderson has earned a Silver Medal in the US News and World Report rankings of public high schools in North Carolina.  Only one other Wake County high school joins Sanderson in the top 12Read more about it!

Third Sanderson Athletics Hall of Fame Class Announced

Sanderson High School and the Sanderson Athletic Club will induct the third class of the Sanderson Athletics Hall of Fame in festivities to be held in September 2013. The class includes seven individual athletes, two coaches, one team and a collection of parent-boosters. Read all about it!

AFJROTC Supports St Baldrick's Foundation Cancer Charity Event

Sanderson's AFJROTC sophomore class presented a check for $1,275 to Ms. Pike in support of the St. Baldrick's Foundation Cancer Charity event held on March 18, 2013.  In addition, 30 ROTC cadets participated as "shavees" bringing the AFJROTC total combined effort to exceed $2,000 in donations for funding the most promising research to help find cures for kids with cancer.  Great job by Ms. Pike and Cadet Eric Fitch for leading the school efforts in this worthy cause.

Sanderson AFJROTC Wins First Place Overall in Drill Meet

Sanderson's Air Force JROTC Drill Team won eleven trophies contributing to their "First Place Overall" finish in the Annual Panther Invitational Drill Meet hosted by Northside High School in Pinetown, NC on March 2, 2013.  Congratulations to the drill team for a perfect ending to the 2012-2013 competitive drill season!

Congratulations and good luck to the Sanderson wrestling regional qualifiers: Adam Alhorani, Adam DeRose, Miguell Royall, Pete Maierhofer, Alonzo Adams, Lamont But, Johnny Gomez, Ryan Rodriguez, Ryan Franz, Matt Norby, Christopher "CJ" Grannan, Antwuan Elliott, Sebastian "Sbass" Murray, and Aaron Hopkins.  The regional tournament is this Friday and Saturday at Lee County High School; the top four finishers in each weight class will move on to the state tournament!!!
