As the workers toiled in the hot sun, carrying the huge stones from one location to another, most of them groaned and complained under the difficult task and conditions. One man maintained a sense of pride and seemed to work beyond the level of his coworkers. When asked how he maintained this positive attitude and strong work ethic while merely moving rocks, he replied, "I'm not moving rocks; I'm building a castle." Our vision at Sanderson High School is like that castle.
"Sanderson is a vibrant community where we all engage in learning."
Each student, teacher, and parent brings something to this vision. Imagine that each role you play at this school is like another rock being added to the pile. Then remember you are not merely moving rocks; you are helping to build that vision of a school that is a community where we all engage in learning.
"We can choose to throw stones, to stumble on them, to climb over them, or to build with them."
-William Arthur Ward
Our vision is an invitation to every member of the Sanderson community to join us in building a community where we all engage in learning.
