Attendance
Daily attendance is monitored every period and any student not in attendance will be marked absent for that period. Students arriving to school after 8:00 AM or returning from an absence are to report immediately to the attendance office. All students must receive an admit slip from the attendance office upon returning from an absence. Students will not be permitted into class after returning from an absence if they do not have an admit slip from the attendance office. An excused admit slip for the day will be given upon presentation of a written note from a parent/guardian regarding the cause of the absence/tardy. Notes from parents/guardians should list both home and work telephone numbers where they can be contacted, the date(s) of the absences(s) and the specific information/reason for the absence. All notes will be verified. The attendance technician will determine whether the absence is excused/unexcused (see list below). Any student not presenting a note from the parents will have their absence coded unexcused. Unexcused absences are subject to disciplinary referral and/or consequences as determined by administration.
