No-Fuss Fundraiser
What makes our fundraiser no-fuss? No orders to take; no wrapping paper or popcorn to deliver. Our goal for this year is to raise $10,000 to fund the wonderful programs we have in place to support the students, teachers, and parents of Sanderson High School. The students and teachers at Sanderson rely on your generosity and participation in the No-Fuss Fundraiser to provide the money necessary to carry out our mission.
When you help Sanderson High School PTSA reach our dollar goal, you help coordinate the efforts of dozens of volunteers in the classroom, office and media center. You help make possible student recognition, teacher appreciation and educational advisory committees. Your support for the PTSA this year will also help fund Smart Classrooms, teacher initiatives, new books and other media. Our “No-Fuss Fundraiser” will fund special programs, communication between school and home (including the Spartan Newsletter) and other educational enhancements. In a few words, our PTSA works together to provide the best that we can for SHS students! Best of all – two words: NO FUSS! No magazine sales, no coupon books.
Your PTSA No-Fuss donation helps pay for PTSA programs throughout the year. Watch the thermometer located at the front door of the school for our progress toward our goal!

Letter From the Principal
Sanderson Parents/Guardians,
As we plan for a great 2009-10 school year, we constantly reflect on our teaching and learning
processes. The vision for the students at Sanderson High School is that all students must reach
their maximum academic growth each year. We all know that learning begins in the home, but
we also know that we need to take full advantage of the scientific research and technological
breakthroughs that can enhance learning, keep students engaged, and create high order thinking
and problem solving strategies. In an effort to demonstrate what a 21 st century learning
classroom might look like, we have created four classrooms (one each for math, science, socials
studies and language arts). These classrooms are equipped with a digital projector, teacher
laptop, document camera, a class set of student response systems, an audio system and two
wireless tablets. Along with these four fully equipped classrooms, we also have eleven portable
mini units that can be used in classrooms throughout the building. All these units will further
avail the curriculum and technology integration to more teachers and students each day. The
overall vision is to have this 21st century learning environment in each and every classroom.
Efforts will be made this year to provide parental demonstrations of this new teaching and
learning technology once we have the equipment installed and the teachers well trained.
The Sanderson PTSA has a rich tradition of supporting the school mission through programs
sponsored for parents, students, and staff. Again this year, the PTSA has committed additional
time and resources to support our 21 st century technology classroom project.
All of these efforts require that parents support the PTSA through the resources of time and
money. This year, the PTSA wants to again offer us the “No-Fuss Fundraiser” as the method to
raise funds to support its’ programs. Each family is asked to contribute twenty-five dollars or
more to the PTSA. This fundraiser does not require students to sell anything and incurs no
overhead expenses. Donations are tax deductible.
I encourage each family to support the PTSA and Sanderson by contributing to this fundraiser. A
significant portion of the money that is collected will go to the 21 st century technology classroom
project. Each student at Sanderson will be impacted by the work of the PTSA throughout the
year.
Thank you for all that you do to make Sanderson such a great school!
Sincerely,
Gregory S. Decker, Ed.D.
Principal, Sanderson High School
